Maddock Supernatural Universe is ready to bring us Stree 2 on 15 August after its successful first instalment in 2018. The film is bringing back the iconic characters of Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee amongst others. This time the terror of Sarkata will haunt the town of Chanderi. But there are fans who have complaints with the new trajectory the film series is taking.
Many fans felt that the mischievous and quirky appeal of Stree is missing in the second instalment. A lot cannot be said about the plot right now but the music has certainly put the social media on splits. Recently Aaj Ki Raat was released in which Tamannaah Bhatia made a sizzling appearance. Fans felt the lyrics and music is more serious and not as groovy and fun as Nora Fatehi’s Kamarayi and fan favorite Milegi Milegi and Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe. Some even felt that the fun of Stree has come a few levels down this time. The music of Stree created a great deal of buzz for the film but this has not been the case with Stree 2 so far, it seems to be relying on the success of its predecessor to gather fans to the theatres.
How true are these claims and what could be the reason for this can only be revealed in due time. Amar Kaushik’s directorial venture is set to add itself in the horror-comedy universe on 15 August, everyone is waiting for the reviews of critics and fans. Speculations about Stree 3 have already started spreading over the internet. However, it will highly depend on the success of Stree 2!
