Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently shared some personal insights about his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, and how his kids, Ira and Junaid, influenced his decision to continue acting.
In a recent chat with Rhea Chakraborty on her YouTube podcast, Chapter 2, Aamir opened up about how he felt after his last movie, Laal Singh Chaddha, didn’t perform well at the box office. He starred in the film with Kareena Kapoor, and while it was a big project, it didn’t turn out as successful as he had hoped. Aamir took full responsibility for the movie’s underperformance, acknowledging his own mistakes. Despite this, he chose to focus on the positives and even threw a party to celebrate the hard work of everyone involved in the film.
After Laal Singh Chaddha didn’t do well, Aamir seriously considered quitting acting altogether. He was actually ready to tell the director of his new film, Sitaare Zameen Par, R.S. Prasanna, that he was stepping away from the industry. But then he had a heart-to-heart with his children, Ira and Junaid, and that conversation changed everything.
Ira, in particular, played a huge role in this decision. She made a plan on a whiteboard, showing her dad that he didn’t have to give up acting completely. Instead, she suggested that he could balance his career with his personal life. This idea helped Aamir see things differently.
Thanks to his children’s support and advice, Aamir decided not to quit acting. He realized he could still pursue his career while also managing his personal life better. This new outlook allowed him to move forward with his work, including his role in Sitaare Zameen Par.
