According to a report in Pinkvilla, SRK and Suhana will start shooting for King in January 2025. Word from the set is that the cameras will start rolling in Mumbai this January with the father-daughter pair leading the charge. Following the Mumbai schedule, the team heads to Europe for a long stint, scouting stunning fresh locations to add massive scale to the movie. Apart from SRK and Suhana, the cast also includes Abhay Verma and Abhishek Bachchan, with major action sequences lined up across different spots.
The shoot is expected to run till late next year, wrapping around August to September. King looks to have the perfect mix of on-location action and studio shots to keep the storytelling raw and real. SRK, known for pushing boundaries, is reportedly pumped to dive into this next-level action universe in King.
King to reportedly release on Eid 2026
As for when we will get to see the magic, King is eyeing an Eid 2026 release, marking SRK’s return to the festival after the Chennai Express era. It’s been a minute since SRK dominated the Eid slot, and the makers are working full throttle to hit that deadline. The source said, “A film like King is apt for the Eid 2026 period and that’s what Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are aiming at. It has been a while since a Shah Rukh Khan film release on Eid, and this would mark his return to the festival after the historic success of Chennai Express. Given the timelines of shoot chalked out at the moment, the makers will make it to the Eid 2026 release slot.”
