Kamala Harris has conveyed her pride in receiving Taylor Swift’s endorsement for her presidential campaign, highlighting the significance of having the pop star’s backing as the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election approaches. In a recent interview with WIRED on September 20, Harris commended Swift as “an incredible artist” who stands up for her beliefs, earning her admiration in the process.

However, the two do share a playful rivalry when it comes to football loyalties. Harris, a devoted 49ers fan, noted their differing allegiances, as Swift supports the Kansas City Chiefs—led by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. “We were on different sides of the Super Bowl last year,” Harris joked, adding, “But who’s upset with anyone for being loyal to their team, right?” Unfortunately for Harris, her team faced defeat to Swift’s during the championship.

Swift officially endorsed Harris on September 10, shortly after the former president’s first televised debate. The singer took to Instagram, stating her support stemmed from Harris’s commitment to championing important causes. She described Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and praised her choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

Swift encouraged her massive following of 284 million to make informed decisions based on their own research rather than solely on celebrity endorsements. Her message also included a pointed reference to JD Vance, who had previously made disparaging remarks about women without children.

In addition to Swift, other high-profile celebrities supporting Harris include Billie Eilish, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Rock, and Oprah Winfrey, amplifying her campaign’s momentum as the election approaches.
