Hotels in Navi Mumbai are cashing in on the excitement surrounding Coldplay’s upcoming concerts, with rates soaring to nearly ₹5 lakh for three nights. The band will perform at DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21, 2024, and most hotels in the area are already fully booked.

According to hotel aggregator apps, accommodations within a 20-kilometer radius of the venue are charging exorbitant prices. For instance, the Courtyard by Marriott and Taj Vivanta in Vashi have no available rooms, while the Fortune Select Exotica hotel is offering a room for three people at ₹2.45 lakh for three nights.

Other nearby hotels are following suit; Fern Residency in Turbhe is charging nearly ₹2 lakh for a room for two during the concert dates, while Regenza by Tunga in Vashi lists rates of ₹4.45 lakh for three nights.

Typically, these hotels charge between ₹7,000 and ₹30,000 per night, making the current prices exceptionally steep. The surge in rates surpasses even those seen during New Year’s Eve, highlighting the extraordinary demand for the concerts.

The frenzy for Coldplay tickets has been immense, with tickets selling out within minutes, prompting the band to add a third show on January 21 due to overwhelming demand.

As the concert dates approach, it’s clear that Mumbai’s hospitality industry is seizing this opportunity, reflecting the growing trend of skyrocketing hotel prices during major events.
