In a significant development for Bollywood fans, it has been confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor will lead the highly awaited Dhoom 4, set to reboot one of India’s most successful film franchises. Directed by Aditya Chopra, the new installment aims to modernize the series while honoring its legacy.
The Dhoom franchise began in 2004, revolutionizing action storytelling in Indian cinema with its blend of stylish heists and charismatic villains. It initially starred John Abraham, followed by Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan in subsequent films. Each iteration raised the bar for action sequences and star power, creating a cult following.
Sources close to Yash Raj Films (YRF) reveal that Dhoom 4, titled Dhoom Reloaded, is currently in pre-production. Aditya Chopra, who is deeply invested in the franchise, is collaborating with writer Vijay Krishna Acharya to develop a script that aims to provide an unparalleled cinematic experience.
Ranbir Kapoor, excited about this new chapter in his career, has reportedly been in discussions to join the cast for quite some time. He will portray the antagonist in the film, marking a pivotal role as he celebrates his silver jubilee in cinema with this project.

The film is expected to begin production by the end of 2025 or early 2026, after Kapoor completes filming for his ongoing projects, including Love And War and the Ramayana series. As Dhoom 4 promises to be a tentpole film, YRF is also gearing up for several other major releases in the coming years, including War 2, Mardaani 3, and Pathaan 2.
