Bollywood’s rising talent, Abhay Verma, best known for his breakout role in The Family Man, has opened up about a dark chapter early in his acting journey—his casting couch experience. In a candid chat with Instant Bollywood, the Munjya actor shared his disheartening story about facing inappropriate advances when he first arrived in Mumbai.

Recalling the incident, Abhay admitted that he didn’t initially grasp the gravity of what was happening. “I was too naive to even register it at the time,” he said. But the reality hit hard when the young actor was asked to compromise on his values. Refusing to give in, Abhay made a bold decision—he packed his bags and returned to his hometown of Panipat, crushing his dreams in the process.

He shared how the incident was a turning point in his life: “Why would I give my remote to my TV to everyone to play and change the channel? This is my life and my goal.” After taking some time to regroup, Abhay returned to the industry with a stronger resolve, saying, “I came back as a changed person with the belief that no one else has the right to dictate my journey.”

The actor’s brave revelations have left fans shocked, but it’s also a testament to his unwavering spirit. Abhay, who also starred in Safed as a transgender character, has clearly navigated some challenging roads in the industry, yet he’s emerged stronger and more determined than ever.

With a slew of hits like Marzi, Little Things, and his upcoming film Munjya, Abhay Verma is proving that no hurdle—casting couch or otherwise—can stand in the way of his success!
