Aamir Khan, fresh off wrapping Sitaare Zameen Par, is deep in discussions for his next big project. Director Anurag Basu has offered him the lead role in a biopic on the legendary singer Kishore Kumar, a project close to Basu’s heart. Aamir, a known fan of Kishore Kumar, is reportedly intrigued by the unique vision Basu has for the film.
According to sources, Aamir and Basu have already met several times, and the conversations are headed in a positive direction. However, the Kishore Kumar biopic isn’t the only film on Aamir’s radar. He’s currently considering a total of six films, including biopics on Ujjwal Nikam, a sequel to Ghajini, a superhero film by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Zoya Akhtar’s next.
While some scripts, like the Kishore Kumar and Ujjwal Nikam biopics, are already complete, other projects are still in development. Aamir is expected to make his decision by the end of the year and will likely commit to at least three of the six films.
Meanwhile, Basu is busy shooting a love story with Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri, expected to wrap up by April 2025. If all goes well, the Kishore Kumar biopic could start production by late 2025.
