Vijayta Pandit, wife of the late music composer Aadesh Shrivastava, has publicly urged Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to fulfill a promise he made to her dying husband—to help launch their son Avitesh’s career in the film industry. In a heartfelt yet pointed statement, Vijayta expressed her disappointment that despite multiple attempts to connect with Khan and his team, including several calls to his secretary Pooja Dadlani, no action has been taken.

In a recent interview, Vijayta revealed the emotional moment when Aadesh, on his deathbed in 2015, entrusted Shah Rukh with his son’s future. However, nearly a decade later, she claims Khan has failed to follow through, leaving her son struggling to find his place in Bollywood. “God has given him so much, so now he has to keep his promise,” Vijayta remarked, reminding the superstar of his humble beginnings and the rise to fame that followed.

Vijayta fondly remembered how Shah Rukh, during his early days in the industry, admired her work and expressed his excitement when they first met. Today, as Khan enjoys the success of his iconic Mannat bungalow and a flourishing film career, she believes it’s time for him to return the favor and help Avitesh—who is already collaborating with international stars like Akon and French Montana—gain the support he needs in Bollywood.

Despite her admiration for Shah Rukh, Vijayta didn’t hold back on her frustration, emphasizing that the industry must step up, especially given the personal connection she and Aadesh shared with the actor. “I’m not asking him to sign Avitesh for a film. Just recommend him. Help him audition,” she said, stressing that her son deserves the chance to prove his talent.

With Bollywood often criticized for its insider culture, Vijayta’s plea sheds light on the unspoken promises made behind closed doors and the harsh realities of an industry where connections can make or break careers. Whether Shah Rukh will respond to this public call remains to be seen, but Vijayta’s strong words have certainly reignited the conversation on nepotism and broken promises in Bollywood.
