Kangana Ranaut’s highly anticipated political thriller Emergency has finally received the green light from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The actress took to social media to share the update, expressing gratitude for her fans’ patience and hinting that the release date will be announced soon.

The film, set during the turbulent Emergency period of 1975-1977, depicts the controversial leadership of Indira Gandhi. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, Emergency has faced significant delays and opposition, including protests from Sikh groups.

Despite the setbacks, Ranaut’s team worked tirelessly to overcome hurdles. In a previous interview, Kangana spoke about the challenges in making the film, emphasizing the financial loss caused by release delays. She noted that Emergency is a passion project created without widespread support from the film industry. Kangana also mentioned that the film was made on a significant budget, and the delay in its release has affected everyone involved in the project.

The film has been embroiled in several controversies, particularly related to its portrayal of historical events. Some groups have raised objections to certain depictions in the film, leading to widespread discussion about its content. Nonetheless, Emergency promises to explore the intricate political dynamics of the time, diving deep into the 21-month period when democratic rights were suspended in India.

Ranaut, who not only stars in the lead role but also directs the movie, has remained vocal about the challenges she faced while bringing this ambitious project to life. She has highlighted that Emergency is more than just a film; it is a reflection of one of India’s most complex and debated political periods.

While the official release date remains undisclosed, Kangana’s announcement has created anticipation among fans, eager to see the movie that explores one of the most defining moments in Indian political history.
