Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are making a strategic move for their Oscar campaign, renaming their acclaimed film Laapataa Ladies to Lost Ladies to resonate better with global audiences. Lost Ladies has been chosen as India’s official entry for the 2025 Oscars, and the change aims to ensure wider international appeal and recognition.

The new title was unveiled through Aamir’s production company’s social media account, accompanied by a fresh poster that teases the adventurous and heartfelt journey of lead characters Phool and Jaya. In the post, the production team shared their excitement, stating, “The wait is over! Presenting the official poster for Lost Ladies—a glimpse into the wild, heartfelt journey of Phool and Jaya!” The poster retains the film’s essence with subtle hints at the plot twists that captivated Indian audiences.

Celebrating the film’s Oscar journey, a special screening was hosted by chef Vikas Khanna in New York. Khanna expressed his admiration on social media, calling Lost Ladies an “iconic film” and highlighting Aamir Khan’s kindness and support for South Asian arts.
