Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule is making waves ahead of its global release on December 5th, 2024. As the premiere shows for the film roll out in the United States, the movie has already crossed the Rs 13 crore (approximately $1.5 million) mark in advance bookings, making a strong start despite a slight dip after the initial surge.
A Mixed Reception in US Bookings
While Pushpa 2 saw a strong opening for its advance bookings, especially after the trailer’s release on November 17th, expectations of a significant rise in sales post-trailer have not been fully met. With just over a week left before its official release, the film’s advance bookings are now projected to cross $2 million in the US, but it is unlikely to break the record set by Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD, which earned $3.9 million in premiere show bookings. The all-time premiere record remains with Baahubali 2 at $4.3 million.
The Pushpa Franchise’s Impressive Journey
The sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, which earned Allu Arjun the prestigious Best Actor National Award, Pushpa 2: The Rule continues the journey with a massive buzz around it. In addition to Arjun, the film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj. The film also made headlines by securing a record Rs 200 crore deal for its Hindi distribution rights in North India, a significant achievement in the Indian film industry.
With just days remaining until the global release, Pushpa 2 is still expected to perform strongly at the box office, with its international audience eagerly anticipating the next chapter of the Pushpa saga.
