In an unexpected turn of events, VV Vaageesan, a Chennai-based engineering student, has filed a legal suit against the makers of the Tamil film Amaran for displaying his personal phone number in the movie. Vaageesan, who has been inundated with calls from fans of Sai Pallavi since the film’s release on October 31, 2024, is demanding ₹1.1 crore in damages for the significant disruption to his personal life.

The chaos began when viewers mistakenly believed the number shown on-screen was that of Sai Pallavi, sparking a relentless barrage of calls. Despite attempting to reach out to the film’s director, Rajkumar Periyasamy, and actor Sivakarthikeyan via social media, Vaageesan has not received any response from the team.

Now, seeking both the removal of his phone number from the film and compensation for the distress caused, Vaageesan’s legal move is making headlines as the Amaran team faces the fallout of this unintentional mix-up.
