Digitally remastered in 4K with Dolby 5.1 sound, the Aamir Khan–Salman Khan starrer opens with moderate numbers but high nostalgic value.

The 1994 comedy cult classic Andaz Apna Apna, starring Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, made its much-awaited theatrical comeback on April 25, 2025, after more than three decades. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film has been re-released in a digitally restored 4K format, complete with Dolby 5.1 sound, offering audiences a chance to relive its timeless humor and nostalgic charm on the big screen.

According to early box office trends, the film has opened with a neutral start, showing moderate occupancy across morning shows. While the pre-release buzz and nostalgia-driven excitement hinted at a grander reception, initial figures reflect a more balanced turnout. Around 5,500 advance tickets were sold across national cinema chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, putting it slightly ahead of newer releases like Ground Zero in terms of day-one pre-sales.

Originally considered a commercial underperformer, Andaz Apna Apna had collected ₹25 lakh on its opening day back in 1994 and wrapped with a modest ₹5.25 crore lifetime. However, it gradually built a cult following, thanks to unforgettable characters like Amar, Prem, Teja, and Crime Master Gogo, along with its endlessly quotable lines and quirky plot twists.

The film’s return was supported by a re-release campaign that included a refreshed trailer unveiled on April 7, which was warmly received online. The return of Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor in their classic avatars has added to the excitement, especially among longtime fans.

Though the initial box office trends are lukewarm, trade analysts predict that footfalls may rise significantly over the weekend, especially as the nostalgia wave and the film’s cultural legacy continue to draw crowds of all ages.
