The buzz around Thama, the latest installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, is gaining momentum as fresh updates reveal a gripping mix of love, legend, and the supernatural. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, the film promises more than just a romance—introducing Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a vampire villain, a major twist that fans didn’t see coming.

According to a report by Mid-Day, Siddiqui is set to join the shoot in the third week of May to film both his vampiric origin story and the climactic sequence of the film. Director Aditya Sarpotdar began the final leg of shooting on April 28 in the scenic Nilgiri hills of Tamil Nadu, with a major portion taking place around Doddabetta Peak in Ooty. The team plans to wrap up the entire schedule by May 25, leaving only two songs to shoot before the film’s grand Diwali 2025 release.

Set across two timelines, Thama weaves a complex narrative: Ayushmann plays a historian researching the ancient roots of vampire folklore in India, while a parallel storyline transports viewers to the mystical city of Vijayanagar, tying everything together through an unfulfilled love story from the past. Drawing inspiration from Indian mythology—specifically the legend of Ashwatthama, the immortal warrior—the film blends history, romance, folklore, and supernatural horror in a never-before-seen cinematic style.

With its unique mix of genres and an intriguing cast, Thama is already one of the most anticipated releases of the year. As filming nears completion and promotional activities begin to stir, fans can expect a visually rich and emotionally layered experience that pushes the boundaries of Indian horror-comedy.

Stay tuned for more updates on Thama as the countdown to Diwali begins.
