Box Office Comparison : Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again Outshines Raid 2 in First Week Collections

Ajay Devgn continues to dominate the Hindi film industry with back-to-back blockbusters. With the recent release of Raid 2, fans and analysts alike have drawn comparisons to his 2024 Diwali hit Singham Again. Both films saw solid openings, but a close look at the first seven days of net box office collections reveals a clear winner in this Devgn vs. Devgn showdown.

Raid 2, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and released on May 1, 2025, had a strong extended opening weekend, collecting ₹71.4 crore. However, its momentum slowed in the following days, earning ₹7 crore on Day 5, ₹6.85 crore on Day 6, and ₹4.5 crore on Day 7. This brings the film’s total net earnings to ₹89.75 crore by the end of its first week. Co-starring Vaani Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh, the crime thriller offered a gripping narrative, but its weekday performance fell short of expectations.

In comparison, Singham Again, helmed by Rohit Shetty and released on November 1, 2024, had a power-packed opening due to its festive Diwali release. The film collected a whopping ₹111 crore in just three days and maintained a strong hold during the weekdays, earning ₹17 crore on Day 4, ₹13 crore on Day 5, ₹9.5 crore on Day 6, and ₹8 crore on Day 7. With a seven-day total of ₹158.5 crore, the third installment of the Singham franchise, also featuring Kareena Kapoor, clearly outperformed Raid 2.

When comparing day-wise figures, Singham Again led consistently. On Day 1 alone, it earned ₹40.25 crore compared to Raid 2’s ₹19.25 crore. The trend continued across the week, with Singham Again nearly doubling Raid 2‘s collections on most days. The strong brand value of the Singham series, combined with festive timing and mass appeal, gave it a considerable edge.
