The excitement surrounding Coldplay’s India tour reached fever pitch on Saturday as ticket sales for their fourth concert, scheduled at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2025, opened at noon. The anticipation, however, quickly turned into frustration for many fans as BookMyShow queues surged into lakhs within moments of tickets going live.

Social media was flooded with disappointed fans sharing screenshots of their daunting queue numbers. One user humorously likened their experience to revisiting JEE Main ranks, while another lamented that even two stadiums of such capacity wouldn’t suffice for the demand.

The Narendra Modi Stadium, boasting a capacity of over 1 lakh, is being billed as the venue for the biggest show of Coldplay’s career. However, despite its size, the overwhelming demand left countless fans ticketless once again.

This Ahmedabad concert comes as an extension of Coldplay’s India tour, which already includes three sold-out Mumbai shows at DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025. The ticketing frenzy has been marred by controversy, with allegations of black marketing and exorbitant resale prices. The Enforcement Directorate is currently investigating the alleged illegal sale of tickets for Coldplay’s concerts alongside other major events.

For fans, the chase for tickets continues, but with queues running into lakhs, the struggle to witness the iconic band live seems as intense as ever.
