Just hours before Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh was set to light up the stage in Hyderabad with his Dil-Luminati Tour, he received a stern legal notice from the Telangana government. The notice, served by the District Welfare Officer of the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens, Rangareddy, instructs him to steer clear of songs that promote alcohol, drugs, and violence.
The action stems from a complaint filed by a Chandigarh resident, complete with video evidence from Diljit’s New Delhi concert last month, where he reportedly performed songs like “Patiala Peg” and “Panch Tara.” Citing concerns about promoting harmful behaviors, officials emphasized that such content should be excluded from his Hyderabad show.
In a further twist, the notice also advises against allowing children on stage or even in close proximity to the concert area. Officials pointed out that loud music and flashing lights could pose health risks to young attendees, as outlined in the concert guidelines.
Unfazed by the last-minute drama, Diljit recently arrived in Hyderabad, where he was spotted visiting a Shiva temple and a gurdwara, seeking blessings ahead of his show. The Dil-Luminati Tour, already a hit in Delhi and Jaipur, has kept fans eagerly waiting, but the Telangana government’s unexpected notice adds a layer of intrigue around what fans can expect in Hyderabad.
