The legal battle between Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly and her stepdaughter Esha Verma has taken another twist. Amid the defamation case and a whopping Rs 50 crore compensation demand, Esha has finally broken her silence, posting a heartfelt note on Instagram, hinting at a fresh start and voicing her protected status in the U.S.
Esha, who recently turned her Instagram account private, expressed gratitude for her supporters. “Resilience and growth come even in challenging times,” she wrote. “I’m embracing a new chapter with peace and authenticity.” She thanked her followers for standing by her and emphasized her decision to focus on her well-being and the tranquility of her loved ones, all while subtly addressing her legal protections in America.
Alongside the message, she posted a video, saying, “I’m just going to be private for a bit. Things are different here in America; we are more protected.” She warned she’d block anyone spreading negativity, signaling a decisive stance amid the lawsuit.
Rupali Ganguly’s legal team, however, sees Esha’s actions as a partial victory. Her lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, claimed that the deletion of defamatory posts “reinforces the principle that false statements carry consequences.” Khan emphasized the need for accountability in public statements, noting that this legal pushback might set a precedent for responsible communication.
This heated family drama comes on the heels of Rupali’s criticism of the Pakistani version of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, which she slammed as “disgusting” and “an insult” to the original. With both controversies brewing, Rupali’s reputation as a fierce protector of her image—both on and off the screen—only grows stronger, but Esha seems ready to forge her path, undeterred by her stepmother’s demands.
