After facing a wave of mixed reactions on social media following the release of his debut film Nadaaniyan, Ibrahim Ali Khan has finally broken his silence. The romantic comedy, which also marked Khushi Kapoor’s latest screen appearance, drew criticism for its performances and narrative, sparking debates across internet platforms.

In a recent conversation with Filmfare, Ibrahim candidly addressed the online backlash. “I’ve seen the mixed reviews on social media — they do fry your brains a bit,” he admitted. “Obviously, most of them are bad because that’s just how social media works. But I’m glad that a lot of people can see what I may be able to bring to the table.”

Despite the criticism, Ibrahim expressed satisfaction with the support he received from within the industry and his collaborators. He acknowledged the need for growth but remained optimistic. “I know I can bring it, and I am confident that I will bring it in my future projects,” he stated.

Reflecting on the film’s tone, the young actor added, “People go in with very high expectations. But Nadaaniyan was never supposed to be a grand film. It’s a sweet, breezy rom-com — something to enjoy on a Friday night while chilling in bed.”

Directed by debutant Shauna Gautam, Nadaaniyan stars Ibrahim alongside Khushi Kapoor, Jugal Hansraj, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, and Mahima Chaudhary. While it may not have landed perfectly with audiences, Ibrahim’s grounded response signals a promising attitude as he begins his journey in the film industry
