In an unexpected twist, Nayanthara has lashed out at actor Dhanush after he sent her a legal notice demanding Rs 10 crore for the use of behind-the-scenes visuals from their 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her recent Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.
Taking to Instagram, the actress expressed her frustration over Dhanush’s refusal to grant permission for the use of film visuals, despite multiple requests. She explained that after two years of attempting to get approval for the documentary, they had no choice but to release the version without the desired visuals. “After two long years of battling it out with you for an NOC, we decided to settle for the current version,” she wrote. Nayanthara also criticized Dhanush for his objection to using unofficial footage, claiming it was “shot from people’s phones.”
Calling his actions a “new low,” Nayanthara accused Dhanush of hypocrisy, claiming that his public persona did not match his actions behind closed doors. “I wish you were half the person you portray to be on stage in audio launches,” she added, hinting at a deeper personal conflict between the two.
Nayanthara also addressed the legal notice directly, stating that she would respond “befittingly” through legal means. She reminded Dhanush that while he may defend his actions from a legal standpoint, there was a “moral side” that would ultimately be judged by a higher power.
As of now, Dhanush has yet to comment on Nayanthara’s open letter or the ongoing legal battle
