Ranbir-Kapoor-and-Sanjay-Leela-Bansali

Bollywood’s ultimate showman, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is back with his grandiose project Love & War, and guess who’s leading the charge? None other than Ranbir Kapoor, alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal! The buzz around this epic saga just got juicier as Ranbir spilled some heartfelt beans at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

Ranbir’s Love Letter to Bhansali

Speaking about reuniting with the legendary filmmaker, Ranbir didn’t hold back on his emotions. “He’s my godfather,” the Animal star confessed. “Everything I know about films, about acting, I learnt from him.” Talk about giving credit where it’s due!

Ranbir, who started his Bollywood journey under Bhansali’s watchful eye in Saawariya, shared how the maestro hasn’t changed a bit. “He’s still that same hard-working genius, obsessed with his movies and his characters. He’ll push you to create something extraordinary—and then push some more!”

Throwback to Where It All Began

For those who don’t know, Ranbir’s history with Bhansali goes way back. Before debuting in Saawariya, he worked as an assistant director on Black. And now, years later, he’s back in Bhansali’s cinematic universe, which promises drama, grandeur, and, of course, those iconic larger-than-life frames.

What’s Brewing in Love & War?

The film, announced in January 2024, is already shaping up to be a Christmas 2025 blockbuster. The official reveal came with signatures from its lead trio, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal—because nothing says Bhansali like some classy drama, even in announcements.

This marks Alia’s second outing with Bhansali after her award-winning performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. And with Vicky Kaushal adding his charm to the mix, fans are expecting nothing short of cinematic magic.

Ranbir’s Busy Blockbuster Calendar

Meanwhile, Ranbir is on a roll. After the roaring success of Animal, which has a sequel already in the pipeline, he’s also busy playing Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, co-starring Sai Pallavi and Yash.

But let’s face it, Ranbir teaming up with Bhansali again is the reunion we didn’t know we needed. As one fan aptly commented, “Ranbir + Bhansali = Fireworks. Bring on the drama!”

With Love & War promising an epic blend of romance and high-stakes conflict, this trio-led saga is gearing up to be the most-awaited visual feast. Bhansali fans, it’s time to mark your calendars because December 2025 is going to be the cinematic event of the year!
