Mumbai – Riding high on the massive success of Stree 2, Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor has reportedly doubled her acting fee for her next project with Ekta Kapoor, signaling a major shift in pay scales for leading female actors in the industry.
According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, Shraddha is charging a whopping ₹17 crore for her upcoming film with producer Ekta Kapoor. The untitled high-concept thriller is set to be directed by Rahi Anil Barve and will go on floors in the second half of 2025. This makes it one of the highest remunerations for a female lead in the current Hindi film industry landscape.
A trade source revealed, “This is among the highest upfront fees received by Shraddha Kapoor, as well as one of the highest paychecks for any female actor today. Ekta Kapoor was more than happy to splurge ₹17 crore to sign Shraddha, especially since this film follows her role in the highest-grossing Hindi film of recent times – Stree 2.”
Notably, the deal also includes a profit-sharing clause, allowing Shraddha to earn a percentage of the film’s profits in addition to her base fee—a model increasingly adopted by A-list stars.
The news comes shortly after reports of Rajkummar Rao hiking his fee by ₹5 crore following Stree 2’s blockbuster run. In an interview with Indian Express, Rao addressed the reports, saying, “I’m not stupid enough to burden my producers. I read different figures every day. Success doesn’t change my core—acting is my passion.”
