sonu-nigam-urges-politicians-not-to-attend-concerts

Legendary singer Sonu Nigam has called on politicians to refrain from attending his performances if they cannot stay for the full event. The appeal follows an incident at the Rising Rajasthan event, where several political figures left his performance midway, prompting him to address the issue publicly.

In a video posted on Instagram, Sonu Nigam expressed his disappointment, emphasizing the significance of the event and the disrespectful nature of the mid-show exits. He said, “Delegates came from all over the world to enhance the pride of Rajasthan. There was a CM, a youth minister, a sports minister… but as soon as the CM and others left, the rest of the delegates followed.”

Sonu further appealed to politicians, urging them to respect artists and their performances. “If you have to leave, then do not come. Or leave before the show starts. Leaving in the middle of an artist’s performance is very disrespectful. This is an insult to Saraswati,” he said, stressing the importance of respecting the art form.

He concluded with a humble request, “If you have to leave, leave before the show starts. You are great, handling important responsibilities, but please respect the artist.”

Sonu’s video, which has sparked conversations on the treatment of artists at public events, ended with a caption that reinforced his message: “Kindly don’t attend any performance of any artiste if you have to abruptly leave midway. This is disrespect to Art and Artistes and Maa Sarasvati.”
