Actor Vihan Verma, known for his role in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, recently revealed a harrowing casting couch experience that occurred when he was just 17. In an interview with News18, Vihan shared that during an early audition, he encountered a person who suggested he “compromise” for a role, an interaction that left him deeply shaken.
Recalling the incident, Vihan said, “I was young and terrified when someone asked me to compromise my values for a role. I refused and left immediately.” Although aware of such incidents, growing up in Mumbai, he never expected it to happen to him. The experience left him traumatized and initially hesitant to tell his parents, fearing they’d ask him to leave the industry.
Eventually, he confided in his parents, who supported him and encouraged him to continue his acting career with confidence and integrity. Vihan shared, “I realized harassment isn’t limited to this industry alone. I decided to pursue my dreams without compromising my values.”
Vihan concluded with a message of empowerment, noting that saying “no” to inappropriate advances doesn’t hinder success but rather strengthens self-worth. His story is a reminder of the challenges aspiring actors face and the importance of resilience and support in the industry.
Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, a Hindi adaptation of the Bengali show Kusum Dola, continues its successful run, recently casting Aishwarya Sharma, Hitesh Bharadwaj, and Amayra Khurana in leading roles.
