Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has found himself at the center of a controversy following the release of a viral poster depicting him as Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The poster quickly sparked backlash on social media, with several groups and individuals voicing their concerns. A BJP spokesperson even threatened legal action against the actor for allegedly disrespecting the Sikh religious figure.
In response to the growing controversy, Aamir Khan’s team swiftly issued an official statement to clear the air. They confirmed that the poster was fake and AI-generated, stating, “The poster showing Aamir Khan as Guru Nanak is completely fake and AI-generated. Aamir Khan has no connection to any such project. He holds the highest respect for Guru Nanak and would never be part of anything disrespectful. Please don’t fall for fake news.”
While Aamir’s team has debunked the rumors, the actor’s next project, Sitaare Zameen Par, remains a hot topic. Recently, in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Aamir Khan revealed the release date for the film, which will hit theaters on June 20, 2025. He shared that the film addresses mental health and emphasized the significance of his character in portraying this theme. The movie is directed by RS Prasanna and also stars Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh in prominent roles.
For those unfamiliar, Sitaare Zameen Par was announced in October 2023 and focuses on a fresh perspective on people with special abilities. As the film nears its release, Aamir Khan is reportedly in the final stages of production and is fully immersed in the project.
