Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn has officially kicked off the shoot for the much-anticipated comedy Dhamaal 4. The comic caper, directed by Indra Kumar, recently wrapped up its first schedule at Malshej Ghat and has now moved to Mumbai for its next phase. However, what’s making headlines isn’t just the film’s shoot but Devgn’s commendable gesture behind the scenes.
Producer Bhushan Kumar revealed in a recent interview that Ajay Devgn voluntarily reduced his fee for Dhamaal 4 to help manage the film’s high production costs. Calling Devgn a “producer’s actor,” Kumar said, “For instance, Dhamaal 4 was turning out to be a heavy-budget film. He told us that he’ll reduce his fee just so that we could make the film. He’s not like other actors.”
Kumar, who has previously collaborated with Devgn on successful projects like Tanhaji, Raid, and Drishyam, praised the actor for always prioritizing the film over personal profit. “Ajay has always made us feel comfortable. We’ve done music and movies together, and we’re now working on De De Pyaar De 2 and Son of Sardaar 2 as well,” he added.
Ajay Devgn also took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes glimpses from the film’s shoot. In one post, he posed with the cast and crew including Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Sanjay Mishra, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Anjali Anand. “The madness is BACK! #Dhamaal4 kicks off with a bang — Malshej Ghat schedule wrapped, Mumbai schedule rolling! Let the laughter riot begin!” he captioned the post.
Meanwhile, fans won’t have to wait long to see Devgn on screen. His upcoming film Raid 2 is set to hit theatres on May 1, 2025. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak.
With Dhamaal 4 bringing back the beloved ensemble and Devgn’s dedication to the project, expectations are sky-high for this next installment in the blockbuster franchise.
