Following the success of the 2018 hit Raid, actor Ajay Devgn and director Rajkumar Gupta return with Raid 2, which is all set for a wide theatrical release on May 1, 2025. Backed by Panorama Studios in association with PVRInox, the film has created strong anticipation among audiences, thanks to its gripping trailer and the goodwill of the original film.

Raid 2 has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and clocks in at a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The film will be released on approximately 3700 screens across India, giving it a wide reach from metros to smaller centers.

The advance bookings for Raid 2 opened on Sunday and have shown encouraging signs. As of Wednesday 3:30 PM, over 45,000 tickets have already been sold in the top three national multiplex chains — PVRInox and Cinepolis. Trade analysts expect the film to close in the 70,000–80,000 ticket range by the end of the day, targeting figures similar to Ajay Devgn’s recent success Shaitaan (81,500 tickets).

With a partial holiday in several states on Thursday due to Maharashtra Day and Labour Day, Raid 2 is expected to benefit from stronger-than-usual spot bookings. Early estimates suggest the film could collect between ₹12.50 crore and ₹14.50 crore on its opening day, with an outside chance of hitting ₹15 crore depending on audience response.

The box office momentum is clearly building, as recent films like Jaat and Kesari 2 have shown that theatrical footfall is steadily improving. With a four-day extended weekend ahead, Raid 2 is projected to earn around ₹55 crore by Sunday.

However, the key test for the film’s long-term success lies in its performance on Monday. Sustained positive word of mouth could help it comfortably cross the ₹100 crore mark in India, a milestone that now seems within reach.

All eyes are now on audience reactions and day-one collections, which will set the tone for Raid 2‘s journey at the box office.
