The Mardaani franchise is all set to raise the bar once again, and this time, it brings in fresh talent alongside its leading lady. After impressing audiences with her gripping performance in Shaitaan, Janki Bodiwala has been roped in for a pivotal role in Mardaani 3. The film, led by Rani Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF), will mark Janki’s second outing in Hindi cinema.
According to exclusive information obtained by Pinkvilla, Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji were deeply impressed by Janki’s screen presence and intensity in Shaitaan. She has now begun shooting for her role in Mardaani 3, where she’ll portray a young cop working alongside Rani’s character, Shivani Shivaji Roy. The film, directed by Abhiraj Minawala, is slated for a Holi 2026 release.
“The third chapter is the most hard-hitting one yet,” a source close to the project shared. “It tackles a pressing social issue and continues the franchise’s tradition of combining thrill with substance. The entire team at YRF has put in a lot of thought to ensure the story feels contemporary and impactful.”
Janki Bodiwala, known for her work in the Gujarati film industry, made a notable Bollywood debut with Shaitaan. Her transition into the mainstream spotlight has been rapid, and this new role signals a significant step forward in her career.
