After delivering a critically acclaimed performance in the supernatural thriller Dhootha, Naga Chaitanya is all set to make a powerful comeback to the OTT space. This time, he’s diving into the gritty world of political crime with an upcoming web series titled Mayasabha. The project has already generated a wave of buzz in the industry, not just because of Chaitanya’s involvement, but also because it is being helmed by celebrated filmmaker and screenwriter Deva Katta, who is currently working on the dialogues for SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated film SSMB29. Known for his intense, socially conscious storytelling, Katta teased fans on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that Mayasabha Season 1 will have a staggering 400 minutes of runtime, promising a deeply immersive narrative.

What makes this collaboration even more exciting is the powerful combination of Chaitanya’s growing credibility in web-based storytelling and Katta’s signature style of grounded, political drama. While Deva Katta initially kept the casting under wraps, insiders and reports from OTT Play have confirmed that Naga Chaitanya is leading the series, marking a bold career move that reflects his evolving artistic choices. Unlike his previous roles rooted in romance or mainstream action, Mayasabha is set to showcase Chaitanya in a layered, intense avatar — possibly as a political figure or someone caught in the system’s crossfire. The show is said to carry a realistic tone, with elements of crime, corruption, and power struggles — a sharp departure from conventional Telugu OTT content.

Chaitanya’s journey in the OTT world began with Dhootha, a dark, atmospheric thriller directed by Vikram Kumar, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in December 2023. The series was met with high praise for its suspenseful storytelling and Chaitanya’s controlled, mature performance, marking his successful transition into digital entertainment. The success of Dhootha not only earned him new fans but also opened the door to edgier, more experimental roles — a path he seems committed to with Mayasabha. For viewers, this move signals a refreshing shift, as regional content continues to dominate streaming platforms with bold narratives and unconventional heroes.

Outside the digital space, Naga Chaitanya’s cinematic career remains just as dynamic. He recently starred in Thandel, a survival drama directed by Chandoo Mondeti and co-starring Sai Pallavi, which became a massive box office hit and received both critical acclaim and public appreciation. Up next, he has an intriguing project titled NC24, a mythical thriller directed by Karthik Varma Dandu, adding another genre to his already diverse filmography. On the personal front, Chaitanya has also made headlines after tying the knot with actress Sobhita Dhulipala, beginning a new chapter in his life. With a booming career, bold choices, and newfound personal happiness, Naga Chaitanya isn’t just returning to the world of web series — he’s preparing to dominate it once again, and Mayasabha might just be the crown jewel of his digital reign.
