Born on May 30, 1955, in Mumbai to a middle-class Gujarati family, Rawal graduated from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics. Early in life, he aspired to financial independence and briefly worked at Bank of Baroda. However, a desk job couldn’t contain his creative spirit. His breakthrough came with Arjun (1985), followed by a powerful role in Naam (1986). Over the decades, he has appeared in over 240 films, showcasing a rare blend of dramatic depth and impeccable comic timing.

One of his most beloved roles is that of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in Hera Pheri (2000), a character that became a cultural phenomenon. He went on to reprise the role in its sequel and is set to return for Hera Pheri 3. Rawal also earned acclaim for his performances in OMG: Oh My God, Table No. 21, and numerous collaborations with director Priyadarshan.

Recognized for his immense contribution to cinema, Paresh Rawal was honored with the Padma Shri in 2014 and has received multiple National Film Awards. His story, marked by risk, determination, and immense talent, continues to inspire aspiring artists across the country.
