Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2, one of the most anticipated sequels of the year, has witnessed a significant drop in its Day 9 box office performance, according to early morning trends. The film, which opened to strong numbers and performed steadily through its first week, has been impacted by escalating national matters that have diverted public attention and disrupted normal activities across several cities.

The Raj Kumar Gupta directorial, which also stars Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saurabh Shukla, had been leading the box office race, outperforming other releases like Kesari 2 and The Bhootnii. However, with nationwide concerns intensifying—resulting in power outages, cinema hall closures, and general public anxiety—the film is now facing a steep drop of around 25–30% in collections on its ninth day.

On Day 8, Raid 2 managed to collect a decent ₹5 crore, pushing its total domestic earnings to ₹94.75 crore. While the film was expected to cross the ₹100 crore milestone over the weekend, the current national situation has cast uncertainty over its immediate box office trajectory. Reports indicate that multiple cinema chains have scaled down showings, and audience turnout has declined significantly due to safety advisories and regional blackouts.

Adding to the impact, the release of Bhool Chuk Maaf, which was set to hit theaters today, was postponed just a day before its scheduled premiere. The decision was taken by the makers in light of the ongoing situation, further signaling how the entertainment industry is being affected by national developments.

Despite the current challenges, Raid 2 remains one of the top-performing films of the season. With Ajay Devgn reprising his role from the 2018 hit Raid, the sequel had built strong momentum through word-of-mouth and a loyal fan base. Whether the film can regain its pace in the coming days will largely depend on how quickly normalcy is restored in affected regions.
