Sunaina Roshan, sister of Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan, recently shared an emotional insight into her close bond with her father, veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan. In a heartfelt conversation with News18, Sunaina revealed the deeply personal reason behind her father’s extreme protectiveness toward her, which is rooted in the family’s numerous health battles over the years.
Having faced several serious health challenges herself, and with Rakesh Roshan overcoming throat cancer in 2018, the Roshan family has endured many emotional storms together. Sunaina opened up about how just when they thought one illness was behind them, another would emerge. She described how these repeated struggles left her father “shattered,” and now even something as minor as a headache makes him anxious.
Sunaina went on to say that her father becomes so worried that he insists on calling doctors multiple times for the smallest symptoms. She acknowledged that many assume she is pampered, but clarified that what may appear as pampering is actually a result of deep concern and love, born from real fear of losing her.
In a rare moment of vulnerability, Sunaina also shared that she has seen her father cry—both out of worry during her illness and with joy when she was pregnant. She praised him for not shying away from expressing his emotions, noting, “There’s nothing wrong with men crying.”
Earlier, Sunaina also became emotional while discussing Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming directorial debut with Krrish 4. She recalled crying when she first heard the news, calling it a proud moment for the family as her brother continues their father’s filmmaking legacy.
