Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty is embracing grandfatherhood with open arms and a full heart. The actor recently welcomed his granddaughter Evaarah, born to his daughter Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul in March 2025. In a candid interview with Times of India, Suniel described this new chapter as the “best feeling in the world” and expressed his desire to make up for lost time.
Reflecting on the early years of parenting, Suniel admitted that his hectic work schedule often kept him away from his children, Athiya and Ahan. “Now I want to do everything with my granddaughter that I probably missed out on with Athiya and my son Ahan because I was constantly working,” he said, adding that little Evaarah is “Athiya 2.0” for him.
He also spoke about how his entire daily routine now revolves around his granddaughter. “After work, I rush home with excitement to spend time with her and my wife Mana. She’s the biggest excitement in our lives right now,” the actor shared. He also quoted a popular saying, “Mul se sut pyaara” (interest is dearer than capital), to express the joy of being a grandparent.
Athiya and KL Rahul officially introduced their baby girl in early April with a heartwarming photo and captioned it, “Our baby girl, our everything. Evaarah ~ Gift of God.” Later, Athiya revealed her daughter’s full name as Evaarah Vipula Rahul, explaining that “Evaarah” means gift of God, “Vipula” honors her great-grandmother, and “Rahul” comes from her father.
