Speaking about her co-star, Vaani Kapoor called herself “lucky” to be a part of the film. “I got lucky with the film, with a great co-actor. I wasn’t sure if he was playing Abir or just being himself—it felt so natural,” she said, adding humorously that Fawad had the patience to endure her nonstop chatter.
Fawad, known for his calm and composed demeanor, responded in kind during the Live session, joking, “Abhi toh main jhuth hi bolunga (Now, I’ll just lie),” before sincerely calling Vaani a “gem of a person.” The playful exchange highlighted their off-screen camaraderie, which both actors believe translated into authentic on-screen chemistry.
Despite the growing excitement around Abir Gulaal, the film has also been the subject of controversy. Some political groups have called for a ban on the film due to Fawad Khan’s Pakistani nationality. However, the cast and makers have remained focused on promoting the love story at its core.
