Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi team up for the first time in this small-town rom-com with a time-loop twist, releasing May 9, 2025.
Mumbai — The much-awaited trailer of Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, was launched with great fanfare, giving fans a sneak peek into a quirky romance set against the backdrop of a never-ending haldi ceremony. The film, directed by Karan Sharma, is set to hit theatres on May 9, 2025, and marks the first on-screen collaboration between the two powerhouse performers.
During the media interaction at the event, Wamiqa Gabbi was asked about her personal life, specifically her views on marriage. In response, the actress gave a candid reply that struck a chord with many.
“Main shaadi ke liye bilkul blank hoon,” Wamiqa told News18 Showsha, adding, “I’m not thinking about marriage at the moment. I’m not even thinking about what kind of marriage I want. Right now, there’s nothing in my mind regarding marriage. When I meet someone, feel something, and start dreaming about a big wedding, I will definitely share how my dreams look like. But right now, there’s nothing.”
Wamiqa also reflected on the societal expectations prevalent in parts of Punjab where she grew up, stating, “And that’s just what families do. They start looking for a groom who is well-settled and has a proper job.”
The plot of Bhool Chuk Maaf centers around a groom stuck in a time loop, reliving his haldi ceremony repeatedly—a novel concept that blends romance, comedy, and a touch of the surreal. With Rajkummar’s impeccable comic timing and Wamiqa’s grounded charm, the film promises to be a refreshing take on Indian wedding traditions.
The trailer has already begun generating buzz, with fans praising the lead pair’s chemistry and the film’s unique premise.
