Mumbai – Akshay Kumar’s courtroom drama Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is experiencing a welcome boost at the box office on its third Saturday, thanks to a combination of a holiday and a recent Buy-One-Get-One (BOGO) ticket offer.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film has collected a net total of ₹75.35 crore over its first 15 days. On Day 16 (Saturday), early box office trends suggest a positive trajectory, especially after the BOGO offer on Friday that pushed the day’s collection to ₹1.85 crore.

The film, a sequel released six years after the original Kesari, stars Akshay Kumar as C. Sankaran Nair, the renowned Indian barrister who legally challenged the British Crown following the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. R Madhavan portrays Advocate Neville McKinley, while Ananya Panday plays the role of Dilreet Gill.

Despite running at modest levels, the historical legal drama is maintaining steady footfall, especially during weekends. With the third Sunday expected to bring additional growth, Kesari Chapter 2 is projected to cross further box office milestones in its third week.

Produced by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective, the film is currently competing with other theatrical releases like Raid 2 and The Bhootnii. Yet, the emotional historical narrative and the powerful performances continue to draw in a dedicated audience.

This marks Akshay Kumar’s second film of 2025, following the release of Sky Force. He is also set to appear in Housefull 5, Jolly LLB 3, and Welcome To The Jungle later this year.

Kesari Chapter 2 is currently playing in cinemas across India. Tickets are available online and at theater counters.
