The superstar makes a spiritual pitstop at the historic Matheswaran Shiva Temple, winning hearts once again.
Amid his packed schedule for the much-awaited Jailer 2, Rajinikanth made a touching detour that has captured the internet’s attention. On his way to the film’s set, the legendary actor stopped by the 400-year-old Matheswaran Shiva Temple in Kerala, which had remained buried and forgotten for years until its rediscovery in 1997.
Clips shared widely on social media show the actor arriving at the temple dressed in traditional attire. Greeted warmly by temple authorities, Rajinikanth offered prayers at the sacred site, his signature smile lighting up the surroundings. The ancient temple, now restored, has become a peaceful attraction for both devotees and history lovers.
As always, the superstar was surrounded by fans the moment his car pulled up. Traveling in his striking black MG Hector—worth over ₹18 lakh—Rajinikanth acknowledged the crowd by standing through the sunroof and thanking them with folded hands as chants of “Thalaiva!” filled the air.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster, and also stars Ramya Krishnan and SJ Suryah. The action entertainer is being produced by Sun Pictures and promises to deliver the same electrifying energy as its predecessor.
Apart from Jailer 2, Rajinikanth will next be seen in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is set to release on August 14. With back-to-back projects and a constant connection with his fan base, the superstar continues to prove why he’s a true icon both on and off screen.
