A sequel to the cult romantic comedy Mujhse Shaadi Karogi is reportedly in the early stages of development, with Varun Dhawan and Kartik Aaryan being considered for lead roles. The original 2004 hit starred Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Priyanka Chopra, and remains one of the most iconic Bollywood comedies of its time. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by David Dhawan, the film blended slapstick, romance, and chaos in a memorable love triangle.

Now, more than 20 years later, producer Nadiadwala is keen on reviving the beloved franchise with a modern twist. According to reports from Mid-Day and Pinkvilla, the sequel—tentatively titled Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2—is still in the scripting phase. While no official cast announcements have been made, both Varun Dhawan and Kartik Aaryan are reportedly strong contenders due to their impeccable comic timing and popularity with younger audiences.

Sources suggest that the sequel may retain the original’s love-triangle structure, but the team is aiming to give it a contemporary edge to appeal to today’s viewers. Nadiadwala is reportedly open to casting three younger but established actors, depending on how the screenplay shapes up. The sequel will only move forward if the final draft meets expectations, insiders reveal.

The news comes just a year after the 20th anniversary of the original film. Priyanka Chopra had celebrated the milestone on Instagram with throwback photos and a cheeky caption, remembering her character Rani and the fun behind the scenes. With nostalgia still fresh and the demand for light-hearted comedies on the rise, fans are eagerly awaiting an official confirmation on whether Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2 will indeed go on floors.
